Hi I love your comment about the kettle, I never realised before visiting a friend in Kansas that American people don't have kettles or even really know what they are. In Ireland and the UK they are seriously standard issue (even when you rent an apt - it has a kettle, though you'll probably bring your own) I stood in my friend's kitchen with a teabag in my hand and said 'mark where's the kettle' - he burst out laughing as he has visited Irl and knew all about the kettle situation - unfortunately they had no kettle. Why not? Kettles are great, you boil water for tea, make coffee, for boiling rice, pasta, anything!! It really is the best invention ever

I almost never eat bread untoasted. toasters rule!

also, I'd never used a rice cooker until last year - I'd always thought people who had them were just frivolously spending money on a useless appliance when they could just boil rice in a pot. But ever since using that rice cooker... I've been fantasizing about owning one.

Hi, good article. When it comes to appliances, many people today seem to think that the more you spend on an appliance the better it is.

As you have show, that is not always the case. You can really get some get appliances at budget prices that can do the job basically the same or better than many high end appliances.
